Recommendations for
Optimal Performance
As the operation stabilizes, the sounds will decrease.
These noises occur during the defrosting cycle or when electronic parts are working.
For ice maker models: When the water valve opens to fill the ice maker, minor buzzing sounds may occur.
If water is not hooked up to the refrigerator, turn the Ice Maker off as this may cause loud grinding or buzzing sound due to no water being present at the water valve.
Due to pressure equalizing when you open and close the refrigerator door, whooshing sounds may occur.
Refer to the User Manual for further description of normal operating sounds including pictures.
This is often caused by food with high moisture content. Make sure food is wrapped airtight
The water/ice dispenser require water pressure of at least 20 PSI (pounds per square inch) to function properly. 35 to 120PSI if installed on a reverse osmosis system. If the supply water pressure is below the recommended PSI, there isn't sufficient pressure on the water dispenser valves for them to close properly and this can lead to dripping.
Under normal conditions, the water dispenser can fill a 5.75oz cup in about 10 seconds provided that the water filter is clear.
It is recommended that you do NOT install the water line on reverse osmosis or water filtration system. Remove water filter from refrigerator if reverse osmosis system is used.
Make sure to either dispense around 3 gallons of water or six minutes worth of water in order to remove air bubbles that might accumulated inside the system when water is initially hooked up or every time water filter is replaced.
It is normal to have a few drops of water at the dispenser once the glass is removed. This is normal operation.
