1893

Two founders of Sunbeam, John K. Stewart and Thomas J. Clark, began manufacturing and selling a commercial horse clipping machine in Chicago.

1946

The Chicago Flexible Shaft Company became incorporated as Sunbeam Corporation.

1951

Sunbeam purchases Rain King Sprinkler Company and begins selling popular lawn sprinklers.

1960

Sunbeam acquired the John Oster Manufacturing Company and introduced the Osterizer blender, a completely automatic blender.

1981

Allegheny International buys Sunbeam appliances and moves their HQ to downtown Pittsburgh from Chicago.

1996

Albert Dunlap was recruited as CEO of Sunbeam.  Sales began to increase massively.

2008

Jarden Consumer Solutions launches products through its Oster de Colombia business entity under the Sunbeam brand.

2011

Sunbeam Hospitality develops a new line of products called greensense. The product line spans five different categories designed specifically to reduce water and energy consumption in hotels.
